Spring is officially here and the forest is bursting at the seams with new life. I can barely even remember how cold, snowy and dark it was not even 2 months ago.
All the snow has melted and the forest is becoming so lush and green. We've had non stop rain for the last two weeks, but luckily the house hasn't been too cold. We've only needed a few morning fires to warm the cabin up to a comfortable level.
I've taken to bringing my camera with me everywhere I go again. There is seriously so much beauty here I am afraid I will never experience it all, let alone capture it with my camera or put it onto paper.
This new piece "Spring Celebration" was inspired by these lovely daffodils.
There is a patch of them growing wild in the forest near the entrance to the cabin.
I was so excited to see the daffodils, I jumped out of the moving car to get those pictures.
Then I immediately went inside and started drawing up some daffodils!
When I was little, daffodils were my favorite spring flower. They reminded me of trumpets that fairies would play to sound the beginning of spring.
I felt like I missed daffodil season up here because our spring started so late.
Even if we did jump into spring a little late, this has been the most beautiful spring I've ever witnessed.
